2022 Chuseok Event

2022 Chuseok Event

God truly blessed this event in a number of ways. The government lifted many Covid restrictions. Two very generous US donors were able to attend the entire Chuseok event. My daughter, Zoe, was able to travel with me and provide much needed assistance. We were able to hold this event at a location near Incheon International Airport, and it was not only a very appropriate location for our three day / two night event, but it also provided a beautiful view of the bay.

Memories included a trip to a Korean Folk Village, a talent show, sharing time with our amazing donors and volunteers, making rice cake, a late-night hike, a seafood tasting, and gifts presented by our generous supporters.

It was such a privilege to have donors witness the importance of hosting holiday events, and how these events not only provide an opportunity for our young adults to relax and feel a sense of freedom, but also brighten each person’s spirit and allow them to form important and supportive friendships! It is as if we were all one big family! And that is what Love Beyond the Orphanage strives to be! My heart was full of gratitude for the trust these young adults gave us. I love their positive and brave spirits. And I so enjoyed witnessing our donors embracing these young adults with open hearts!

A very special thanks to Dr. David Kang & Dr. Jennifer Han, and to Joyce Yoo for traveling to Korea to bring their gifts of hope and support! Their presence was truly a blessing to everyone who attended. I also thank our volunteers, Barbara Kim, Zoe Hendrickson, Grace, Lora, Lim Hyelim for helping make this event such a success. And, of course, all our incredible donors who help to ensure that aged-out orphans are not forgotten!
