Breaking Through the Dark Past with Courage and Support 2026

Sometimes when aged-out young adults visit the LBTO office, what begins as a simple evening of sharing a meal, playing games, and catching up on life unexpectedly turns into something far more meaningful.

During a casual gathering, one young man courageously opened up about the emotional burden he had been carrying for a long time. Although he holds ambitious dreams and hopes for his future, feelings of regret, fear, and self-doubt had quietly left him struggling to move forward with confidence.

As he shared his heart, it became clear how deeply he longed for healing, encouragement, and the opportunity for a fresh start. Like many aged-out young adults, he has faced immense pressure while trying to navigate adulthood largely on his own, often carrying wounds and insecurities that remain unseen by others.

That evening, however, something changed.

Surrounded by people who genuinely listened, encouraged, and cared for him, he began to feel seen, heard, and supported. Our LBTO manager, who has counseling training, gently offered guidance and encouragement, while friends around him reminded him of his worth, strength, and potential. What started as an ordinary evening slowly became a moment of healing, honesty, and hope.

By the end of the night, the young man expressed gratitude and relief, sharing that he finally felt hopeful enough to seek additional counseling support and continue moving toward a healthier and brighter future.

At LBTO, moments like these remind us that our mission goes far beyond scholarships, events, or programs. Many aged-out young adults simply need a place where they feel safe, valued, encouraged, and reminded that they do not have to face life’s challenges alone.

Healing often begins with one conversation, one trusted relationship, and one moment of hope.

We remain committed to walking alongside these young adults with compassion, encouragement, practical support, and community as they continue building brighter futures for themselves.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support LBTO through prayers, encouragement, volunteering, and generosity. Your support helps create spaces where healing, growth, and hope can truly begin.
