Lunar New Year Event: January 21, 2023

With the Covid pandemic behind us, we were blessed to host 38 aged-out adults (including many new faces), along with two board members and volunteers! We hosted the event in the heart of Seoul. It was an extra special day, because we recognized the many loyal volunteers who have served tirelessly over the years. The participants understood that without volunteers, we would find it extremely difficult to hold such events. Our celebration included a team bonding activity, enjoying traditional foods and games, an inspirational speaker (actress Shin Ae-ra), and a gift presentation from our very generous donor, Ethan, who is CEO of Lar Shoes Company, who donated a pair of sneakers to each participant! The event concluded with a Korean BBQ dinner. Here is Ethan’s expression of why he donated so generously: “Look around nature and people around us. I have been to United States for five years and it was very lonely. This period makes me think of the most lonely people around me, so I decided to support orphans in Korea with my own fashion business.” Ethan demonstrated the importance of recognizing the needs of others and acting to fill those needs. Of course, this event was only possible because of our generous supporters in the U.S. Thank you!
