Summer Workshop 2025
From July 4–6, 2025, LBTO scholarship recipients gathered at the Ramada Hotel in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, for an unforgettable Summer Workshop filled with encouragement, personal growth, laughter, and meaningful connection.
Each year, this special retreat provides our scholarship students with an opportunity to step away from the pressures of daily life, celebrate their progress, strengthen friendships, and reflect on their journeys through school, work, and adulthood. What began as a three-hour bus ride from Seoul quickly turned into a weekend full of memories, inspiration, and renewed hope.
Despite the unusually hot and humid weather and a full schedule from morning until late evening, our scholars participated with incredible enthusiasm and energy throughout the entire three-day program. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, support, and genuine care for one another.
One of the most meaningful moments of the workshop was the scholars’ mid-year PowerPoint presentations, where each student shared personal updates, accomplishments, goals, and challenges. Their presentations offered a powerful glimpse into the resilience, dedication, and growth taking place in their lives through the LBTO Scholarship Program.
The weekend was packed with memorable activities and experiences. Scholars enjoyed beach clean-up projects, surfing, a boat excursion, and visits to the local market — all while creating lasting friendships and unforgettable memories together. Additional highlights included heartfelt discussions on “What Does Family Mean to Me?”, leadership and public speaking sessions, devotionals, mission project presentations, late-night games and snacks, and even a dazzling fireworks show by the beach.
After the meeting room closed each night, the fellowship continued as everyone gathered together in the hotel suite like one big family. Those late-night conversations, laughter, encouragement, and shared stories became some of the most treasured moments of the entire weekend.
At LBTO, we believe healing, growth, and confidence are often built through relationships and community. This workshop reminded all of us how important it is for aged-out young adults to experience belonging, encouragement, and the opportunity to dream boldly for their future.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible NexGen Volunteer Leaders whose tireless service, leadership, and genuine care helped make this workshop such a tremendous success. We are also profoundly thankful to every donor and supporter whose generosity continues to transform lives and create opportunities these young adults may never have otherwise experienced.
Because of your support, hope continues to grow — one young adult, one relationship, and one life-changing experience at a time.
